"Hank",

Thank you for conceding your were wrong to call us anti-semites. I look forward to your posting an apology.

As for your patronising ill-considered "explanation" of the view. Utter drivel.

The Iranian president did say (although clearly not in English) "Israel shoud be wiped from the face of map" Note: "Israel" not "The Jewish People". It isn't an anti-semitic statement. It's been twisted far too often by those who like to accept uncritically what their media presents to them. He also only said it according to reports as part of an address at a rally. Clearly it's polemic. Just as McCann's answer to the "Iranian problem" at a husting in front of ex-serviceman (to wit "bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, Iran") was probably in every fanatical Islamists webcast within 48 hrs and clearly a stupid irresponible thing to say from someone aspiring to be president. But yet probably (I pray) doesn't reflect his fuller position. When the USA starts talking seriously with Iran which congressional comittee reccommend some time ago and now the CIA have come clear about the nuclear scare-mongering we can see this will happen fairly soonish I think. especially as US ecomonic difficulties mean no president is going to be able to sell further action in the middle east any time soon. wars are kinda expensive you know?

As for loving dissenting views.. well that coming from the countryman of the nation that brought you McCarthism is a little rich isn't it? :))

Your clear problem in any kind of argument and I clearly have as evidence your last post is you don't listen read and consider what people say you simply show us your prejudices. Exactly as JJ did before you. Well-intentioned at times but not really well-considered. Or interesting.

Given that you have exactly the same line of explosive sexual rhetoric as JJ and seem to share the same unthinking uncritical Islamphobic attitudes (which makes you a moronic puppet of your media btw) and the fact that you seem semi familiar with discussion you only recently joined, and that you grudging take the simplistic "all-american" stance with lv2bs in exactly the same way as JJ did, I think you are JJ.

I've kicked your ass here before. Welcome back. I expect you'll give me opportunities a-plenty to do the same with your next post. But please could we make it something a little more interesting next time? :))))

sorry my editing got a bit confused there

"When the USA starts talking seriously with Iran..... a lot of rhetoric will seem bizarre with hindsight.

I started listing why I felt there were signs this might be sooner rather than later and forget to make my point! LOL

Hank, this is what I posted after your first couple of appearances here:

Thanks for sharing your views with us Hank, it makes a nice contrast with your childish entrance to the discussion. But no one is attacking Israel on this board. That's something l2r imagined he saw so that he'd have something to argue about.

What Tchock and I mentioned (quite a long time ago now, during the Israel/Lebanon conflict) is simply that Israel's tactics of using missiles which caused *serious* collateral damage, killing many civilians, were unacceptable to us and that the American media, particularly Fox news, appeared to have deliberately glossed over that in their coverage of the conflict, and made Lebanon out to be "the bad guys". Of course Israel as a country and the Jews as a people and a religion should be allowed to exist, and yes, it is horrible that they are treated so badly by the countries around them. I support military action to ensure the country's survival insofar as I ever support any military action (it is never justified, but it may be necessary). I assume this is clear enough for you Hank, but I doubt it will get through to our old friend L2R.

Merry Christmas.

I don't know if you read it the first time but the only bit that doesn't still apply is "Merry Christmas".

From Plan-a-Tear:
>>I look forward to your posting an apology.
It's forthcoming. Please hold your breath until I do so.
>>The Iranian president did say (although clearly not in English) "Israel shoud be wiped from the face of map" Note: "Israel" not "The Jewish People". [sic]
So if I say Mexico should be nuked until it's devoid of life, I have nothing against Mexicans, right?
>>[Basically unintelligible sentences meant to suggest the U.S. should talk to and negotiate with the Iranian regime]
I agree
>>As for loving dissenting views.. well that coming from the countryman of the nation that brought you McCarthism is a little rich isn't it? [sic]
So my opinion isn't valid because of a now-discredited Senator, but opinions from that bastion of free speech, Iran, are worthwhile?
>>Given that you have exactly the same line of explosive sexual rhetoric...
Now you're getting a bit weird. Please quit thinking about me, sex, and exploding at the same time.
>>I think you are JJ
I've never said I wasn't.
>>I've kicked your ass here before.
And I'm sure online is the only way you've ever come close to kicking someone's ass. Something tells me your sex life involves a lot of typing, as well.
I only popped in here to cheer a bloke who I felt was outnumbered and unfairly attacked--getting in a debate with effete, half-educated, would-be Quislings doesn't interest me as it once would have, so forgive me if I take a year to respond to whatever you're about to start typing.

Still the same problem you have JJ, you just read what you think is said rather than thinking what it might mean.

Israel could be "wiped from the map" by declaring all of Palestine and Israel a new democratic secular state for example. Whether "wiped from the map" implies physical destruction in the native language or the far more obvious and literal meaning of removal of a political entity ie a state isn't something I'm actually qualified to say, but unlike you JJ I don't jump to conclusions without considering alternative explanations.

You think it couldn't happen? Well you'd have said the same about power-sharing in Northern Ireland too. One difference is the USA wants turmoil in the Middle East.

>>>So my opinion isn't valid because of a now-discredited Senator, but opinions from that bastion of free speech, Iran, are worthwhile?

Nope you opinion isn't worthy of great consideration because you're ignorant prejudiced and incapable of any depth of thought. I drew attention to McCarthy's enlightened approach to free speech and open debate (sic) to put your facile jibe into a better historical perspective. Free speech wasn't consistently protected in the USA even tho it's enshrined in your constitution. Similarly if you'd spent more of your collective energies defending your own democracy Al Gore would have been president on the rather quaint grounds that, according to the rules, he won the election.

Sorry to learn that because I've demolished every strand of your argument you have to console yourself with the notion I couldn't fight and never get laid. Before we get any further down that road I concede the possibility that your Dad is indeed bigger than my Dad......

One difference is the USA wants turmoil in the Middle East.

Actually to correct myself it has certainly suited some very powerful Americans in the recent past. It's perhaps rather comic that the very class of people such as JJ who most culturally prize their ability to "kick ass" don't see that their indoctrination into that value scheme is what makes them cannon fodder for someone else's war. You think a certain poster here is deep down ashamed of his draft dodging JJ?

>>By planet ear   (Friday, 30 May 2008 04:54)

wants turmoil in the Middle East??? Ear, WHAT???

Discordant sounds or discordant writing is pleasinmg only to its composer. if any of you wonder why I'm a little tough on him, all you have to do is read backabout 40 pgs or so. He's been put on noticeto modify his (??) brhavior. Perhaps you've had time to think of the peace lovinmg Iranians?? Still waitimg.

BTW Lv2bs is it true that you offered the moderator a considerable bribe to stop me and some others posting here?

>>By planet ear   (Thursday, 9 Oct 2008 16:17)

Ear....to be paranoid along with your other challenges must be tough. Suggestion, why not try to be considerate of opposing viewpoints?? Your anti-Bush and anti American ramblings wore thin with me too. Moderate yourself!!!

>>By lv2read   (Friday, 10 Oct 2008 00:18)

Lv2bs is it true that you offered the moderator a considerable bribe to stop me and some others posting here?

Yes or No?

Ear...this board is for big people.

>>By lv2read   (Friday, 10 Oct 2008 07:03)

>He's been put on noticeto modify his (??) brhavior.

Only by you lv2bs. Are we to be treated to another round of your curious "I am God of the Jack Board.... Obey Me!" delusions? If you insist in embarrassing yourself further so be it.

>>By planet ear   (Saturday, 11 Oct 2008 00:29)

Ear....just understand for a moment what drugs have done to you over time.....sarcasm, futulity, don't want things because you can't have them and so on. Your anger is ventd towards those that have, those that succee, and most of all rowards those who have worked hard and achieved!!! Again, this board is for big people.
